Description
Technical Parameters
High-Strength PET Geogrid for Soil Reinforcement
1. Due to the mesh structure of the polyester fiber geogrid, soil particles are mechanically interlocked within the grid, resulting in effective stress transfer between the soil and the geogrid, thus reducing uneven settlement.
2. When laying polyester fiber geogrid on soft soil foundations, excess moisture in the foundation can dissipate through the mesh. Simultaneously, it prevents the mixing of different materials, ensuring the overall stability of the structure. The polyester fiber geogrid has high tensile strength and tensile modulus, enabling it to evenly distribute loads or stresses over a large area, thereby reducing the compressive stress acting on the soft foundation.

Application of polyester fiber geogrid in soft soil foundation of highway
With the deepening research and application of geosynthetics, it has been found that using geosynthetics can not only solve the stability problem of soft soil roadbeds but also effectively reduce uneven settlement caused by roadbed filling. For example, polyester fiber geogrids can be used to reinforce soft soil. Geogrids are a new type of building material with advantages such as high strength, good toughness, light weight, and long service life. Geogrids are generally considered to be stretched mesh materials with a tensile strength greater than 12 kN/m. They are made by strictly proportioning thermoplastics, extruding or stamping them into a mesh, then rapidly cooling them, and then slowly heating them to stretch them, causing the molecular chains to be highly oriented along the stretching direction. Due to its highly stretched and oriented structure, the tensile strength of geogrids can reach 100-200 MPa, and the elongation is relatively small, only about 4%-10%, close to the level of low carbon steel. It has a strong mesh structure and is an ideal structural mesh material. Polyester fiber geogrids can uniformly distribute loads. They reinforce soft soil through two important mechanisms: direct tensile stress and confining the lateral displacement of the soil. Its confining effect comes from the friction of the geogrid surface and the passive earth pressure generated by the transverse reinforcement of the geogrid under load. If geogrids are laid directly on soft soil and then supplemented with a granular base course, this not only ensures that the granular material does not mix with the foundation soil, but also further strengthens the interlocking effect between the geogrid and the granular material.
Our polyester fiber warp-knitted geogrids are made by warp-knitting high-strength polyester filaments into a mesh fabric, which is then coated with PVC to form the geogrid. It boasts advantages such as high strength, high modulus, light weight, good toughness, corrosion resistance, and long service life. It has strong adhesion to the soil, effectively improving soil mechanical properties and enhancing overall integrity. Polyester fiber warp-knitted geogrids are mainly used for soft soil foundation treatment in highways and railways, as well as for reinforcement in riverbanks, embankments, and slopes, thereby improving project quality and reducing costs.
Production Process of Polyester Fiber Warp-Knitted Geogrid
The production process of polyester fiber warp-knitted geogrid mainly includes two stages: filament warp knitting and surface coating, both completed using an automated production line.
(1) Filament Warp Knitting: High-strength polyester industrial filaments are woven into a mesh substrate using warp knitting. The warp knitting method involves parallel arrangement of weft yarns. After the warp yarns are fed into the loom, they are knotted into loops, forming individual loops of the same yarn along the warp direction of the fabric.
(2) Surface Coating: The woven polyester substrate is coated with PVC (polyvinyl chloride) using specialized equipment. After cooling, the polyester fiber warp-knitted geogrid is complete.
