High Density Polyethylene Geomembrane (HDPE)
Three-dimensional HDPE confinement system manufactured from engineered polyethylene strips, designed to improve the load distribution capacity of soil and aggregate layers through cellular restriction.
Unlike planar reinforcement products, HDPE Geocell creates a vertical cellular structure that limits lateral displacement of infill materials. The interaction between cell wall stiffness and filling material determines the final reinforcement effect.

High Density Polyethylene Geocell Material Engineering
The performance of a geocell system starts from the polymer sheet. HDPE is selected because its molecular structure provides the required combination of flexibility, stress resistance and processing stability during extrusion and welding.
HDPE Resin Selection
Controlled HDPE resin characteristics ensure consistent sheet formation during extrusion and maintain stable mechanical behavior after installation.
Sheet Thickness Control
The thickness of HDPE strips directly influences cell wall stiffness, deformation resistance and interaction with the filling materials.
Surface Structure
Smooth and textured surfaces provide different levels of interaction between HDPE walls and surrounding soil or aggregate.

How HDPE Geocell Confinement Works
The reinforcement mechanism of HDPE Geocell is based on lateral confinement. When aggregate or soil is placed inside the cells, horizontal movement is restricted by the surrounding HDPE walls.

Improved Load Transfer Within Reinforced Layer
This mechanism is different from geogrid reinforcement, where tensile interaction is the main principle. Geocell provides three-dimensional confinement and increases the stability of loose filling materials.
Engineering Parameters for Project Selection
| Parameter | Engineering Influence |
| Cell Height | Determines confinement depth and the volume of reinforced filling material. |
| Cell Size | Affects interaction between aggregate particles and cellular structure. |
| Strip Thickness | Controls cell wall stiffness under repeated loading. |
| Weld Strength | Determines connection reliability between individual cells. |
Application-Based Engineering Selection
Unpaved Road Reinforcement
